How to turn a profit from a restaurant business

Business owners and restaurateurs say there’s no escaping the fact that the best way to turn your dreams into a profitable business is by investing in the right training.

“It’s really easy to say that you can do this without going to a restaurant, but it’s not so easy,” said Jason Tuckman, a former restaurant chef who’s now running the training business “Gourmet Restaurant Group”.

“We’re all going to do this,” he said.

“If you do this right, you’re going to be successful.”

Tuckman said the biggest takeaway for him was that training was the key to becoming a successful restaurant owner.

“We know what it takes to be a successful business.

And it’s also important to train for it.

If you have to spend thousands and thousands of dollars on training, you don’t want to be there.”

Tuckedman has worked with some of the world’s best restaurants including Michelin-starred chefs like James Beard winner James Beard and Michelin favourite Michael Pollan, and is currently running the “Greenspan Academy” for aspiring chefs.

He said he’d encourage all aspiring chefs to attend the program, which is run by a number of high-profile chefs, to see what the system is all about.

“To me, that’s the biggest thing, to be able to show you’re an entrepreneur, you can take that knowledge and apply it to your business,” Tuckmon said.

He suggested aspiring chefs spend a couple of hours every week in his training classes.

“You’ll see you’re really getting it right,” he added.

“Once you’ve seen it, you’ll understand it.

You’ll understand the fundamentals.”

Tucksman said he didn’t recommend spending $40,000 on a business plan, because it could take two to three years to develop a business.

“The most important thing is to start learning,” he advised.

“There’s no reason you shouldn’t be able learn, and if you’re willing to invest in your own business and put in the time and effort to learn, you should be able make a great business.”
