Balloon business training for pilots

Business pilots train to fly commercial balloons in a series of three training sessions that will be streamed live on the website of the U.S. Army’s Balloon Training Center.

The sessions, held at Fort Meade, Md., will begin Tuesday and run through Thursday.

The first session, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.n.m., will focus on aerodynamics and basic airfoil design and handling.

The second session, at 10 a.m.-2 p.y., will be about basic aerodynamics.

The third session, on Saturday, will focus exclusively on handling.

A total of 25 people will be involved in the session.

More Phoenix-area businesses and residents are invited to participate in a pilot training program sponsored by the Balloon Training Centre at Fort Lee, the Army Air Forces.

The training is expected to cover the basics of operating a balloon, including operations, safety, and training procedures.

The Balloon Training Unit, a division of the Army’s Training Command, will also be involved.

Businesses are invited, too, to participate.
